Insulator Overview

This style is likely an early prototype for Fred Locke, which would eventually be finalized as CD 287 (Brookfield) and CD 287.1 (Hemingray). While similar in overall design, it has a much narrower skirt and petticoats. CD 287.2 was produced by both Hemingray and Brookfield. For the Hemingray produced pieces, only two complete specimens and a shard from the Locke Attic Dump dig were known to the hobby, until a third specimen surfaced in 2023 (pictured). Most, if not all, have been found in the region of Rochester, New York, and seemed to be popular with a local utility company.
